Book Review: Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza.

Mila 2.0 (MILA 2.0, #1)Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza.
Book Summary: Mila 2.0 is the first book in an electrifying sci-fi thriller series about a teenage girl who discovers that she is an experiment in artificial intelligence.

Mila was never meant to learn the truth about her identity. She was a girl living with her mother in a small Minnesota town. She was supposed to forget her past—that she was built in a secret computer science lab and programmed to do things real people would never do.

Now she has no choice but to run—from the dangerous operatives who want her terminated because she knows too much and from a mysterious group that wants to capture her alive and unlock her advanced technology. However, what Mila’s becoming is beyond anyone’s imagination, including her own, and it just might save her life.
Mila 2.0 is Debra Driza’s bold debut and the first book in a Bourne Identity-style trilogy that combines heart-pounding action with a riveting exploration of what it really means to be human. Fans of I Am Number Four will love Mila for who she is and what she longs to be—and a cliffhanger ending will leave them breathlessly awaiting the sequel.

Liana's Summary: Mila is a normal teenage girl-- at least, that's what she tells herself. Her world is flipped upside down when Kaylee, her 'friend', flings her violently from the back of her truck, and Mila's arm splits open. But instead of flesh and blood and human organs, she sees a machine. She's Mila 2.0, and she's a runaway. When the government is close enough to find her, Mila and Nicole are forced to run-- to Canada. Whatever Mila's leaving behind-- must be left behind. For now.

I've been wanting to read this book for quite some time now, and I can't say that I'm disappointed! However, I think the cover is the best thing about this whole book..

I liked..
-Of course, the cover. It's so gorgeous.
-The fact that she's an android. I mean, that's AWESOME! She has all these cool abilities and everything.
-The romance. I hope more of it will develop in the rest of the series. I have a feeling a love triangle is coming up.

-The action near the end of the book. It was absolutely amazing and kept the readers at the edges of their seats.

But. I disliked:
-The main character, Mila. She's cool and all but I feel like sometimes, she's just kind of annoying. I don't know. I like the fact that she's an android but I don't like the fact that she's one of those protagonists-in-denial (that I strongly dislike).
-The plot. It was kind of slow, but it was still good. Somewhat. It was very dry until the last quarter of the book, where things started to get interesting.

Overall, this book was alright. I thought it would be better, but it was still good.
